CATERING POLICIES

Space Reservations

To make room reservations for an event, contact the Building Management Office at: events-bmo@fuqua.duke.edu.

Event Booking

Events must be booked 3 weeks in advance and finalized with a signed contract at least (3) business days in advance.  Events booked with less than 3 weeks' notice may be subject to a late order fee.  Adherence to this requirement will allow us to best serve your needs.

Guest Count and Guarantee Policy

A guaranteed number of participants are required at least (3) business days prior to your event. Catered events require a minimum guest count of ten (10) people. We will be prepared to serve five percent (5 percent) more than the guaranteed number, up to 25 guests. You will be billed for the guaranteed number of guests, plus any additional guests served. An order minimum of $150 required to include set up and breakdown services, events totaling less than the required minimum can be picked up at the cafe or dropped off within Fuqua as a disposable service.

Cancellations

Events may be cancelled at no charge up to (3) business days prior to the scheduled date. Confirmation of the cancellation is required. A cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made after the deadline. Cancellation made within 48hrs will be charged all perishable items. Cancellations made within 24hrs are subject to a cancellation fee of up to 100 percent of total bill.

Full Service Events

Additional fees apply for all events requiring attendants. Labor fees will be added at a rate of $25.00 per server per hour, with a minimum of 4hrs, to include 1hr set-up, 2hrs service, and 1hr breakdown. (note: pick-up and delivery service only would not incur this additional charge)

Off-Site Delivery Charge

Full service-$100 includes set up and breakdown
Drop off-$50 all disposable, includes set up only

After Hours Events

After Hours services require a minimum event total of $1500 in food and beverage service for all weekend services. After hours charges apply to any event held on Saturday/Sunday and Holidays. This charge varies depending on the required staff, to include chefs, kitchen and wait staff at a rate of $35 per hour/per attendant, with a minimum of 4hrs.

Food Safety

Your safety is important to us, we pride ourselves in the measures we take to keep our clients safe. Please be aware all food provided may not be removed from the event. We will not be held responsible for any perishable food items taken from the event.

Payments

Payment information must be on file a minimum of 3 business days prior to your event for confirmation of services. Fuqua fund codes may be used for any Fuqua school of business group, club, or department. All other external groups must pay with credit cards and information must be entered into your account's online wallet prior to service.
